Introduction
White Canvas is a new experiment by TiYo—a concept album shaped by color and narrative. Rooted in hip-hop, it moves through electronic music, alternative rock, jazz, and trap, bringing contrasting sounds together within one evolving world.
At its center is an artist facing a blank canvas. Unable to begin and increasingly restless, he steps outside in search of inspiration. The encounters that follow, together with the memories and realizations they awaken, become his pigments. Piece by piece, they form the final painting: the album itself.
The blank canvas also marks a new phase. Placed over what came before, it conceals an earlier body of work while offering a surface for reinvention—a new chapter and a new identity.
Across ten interconnected tracks, from White Canvas to Will You Move to the Next Chapter?, TiYo follows a chronological journey through self-reflection, social commentary, faith, identity, and human relationships. Each song adds another color; together, they reveal both a finished work and the person who painted it.

01/ White Canvas
- Overview: "White Canvas" is the opening track of the album. It tells the story's beginning: an artist stands before a fresh, blank canvas, completely at a loss. Feeling restless, he decides to step out into the night-shrouded streets to seek inspiration.
- Genre: Hip-hop/ Electronic / Pop Rap/ Alternative Rap
- Creative Notes: A "beat switch" is employed to contrast the distinct moods and situations—the restlessness of painting at home versus the resolve to leave upon looking out the window—through the differing styles of the two instrumental sections. The track opens with chopped vocal samples, and the central theme is conveyed through the lyrics: "All the days, fade away, when I make it my own way."

02/ Red Scarf Pt.1
- Overview: "Red Scarf Pt. 1" is the fifth track on the album. It traces TiYo’s journey from the personal to a recollection of past experiences, reflecting on the circumstances of that time and their impact on his present self.
- Genre: Hip-hop/ Alternative Rap
- Creative Notes: Samples from vintage Cantonese songs are chopped and processed to evoke the nostalgic feel of an old gramophone, creating a resonance between the music and past memories. This is paired with the timbres and rhythms of old-school hip-hop drums to establish a retro yet dark atmosphere. In the latter section, a half-time treatment slows down the drums and introduces distortion, abruptly shifting the overall sonic texture to something far more eerie and sinister.

03/ Blue Nightmare
- Overview: "Blue Nightmare" is the second track on the album. It picks up the story from the opening song, following TiYo as he steps out for a nighttime stroll through the bustling city in search of inspiration. Amidst the brightly lit streets, he enters a bar, gradually becoming intoxicated by the music and the alcohol.
- Genre: Hip-hop/ Pop Rap/ Contemporary RnB
- Creative Notes: Soft keyboard and bell tones create a relaxed, dreamy, and cozy nighttime atmosphere. Blending contemporary R&B textures with Trap drum patterns, the track captures the vibe of a modern urban night.
